Whew!!!

HEY GUYS!!!! I've literally had to catch my breath on all that has been going on in my life since I have last blogged. SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED I'm so excited to catch you up on things.

FIRST!!!! 3 YEARS OLD!!
****Yes! In November I crossed that 3 year mark from my big chop and I'm loving my hair now more than ever!!! I'm experimenting with different styles and hair care products (some natural) but I am sad to say that I did cause a bit  a dramatic amount of heat damage in a matter of 2 *count em* 2 months of having a sew in! Pictures below...

SECOND!!! NEW CITY!!!
****FINALLY! I am out of my hometown of Peoria, Illinois and residing in Louisville, Kentucky.
Why, you ask?...

THIRD!!!! MARRIAGE!!!
*****WHOA!!  I don't even think you all knew I got engaged (sorry it all happened so fast).
In March 2012, I celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my wonderful boyfriend *now husband* and about a month after he surprised me and proposed AT MY JOB!!! We didn't want to wait so we had a nice intimate ceremony in my grandmother's back yard.  My dress was short, my hair was in a natural style done by my cosmetology school friend Sesslee Walker Barrett (she does the most beautiful natural hair...I may be biased...then again I'm not she is AMAZING).  I digress, right after I'm in Louisville married and starting a new job.

What's next???
Currently, I have my hands in many things (ideas) I'm in the works of starting my own boutique, along with freelance styling.  I have a blog on tumblr www.tumblr.com/blog/beez-vivrant this is where you will find my styling I'll be showcasing local Louisville and Illinois up and comers, basically, its plug central along with hair and skin care tips! Bee's RAVE!!!! N0. #1

Ok....my first rave for this blog!!!

I was product browsing around Sally's Beauty Supply and stumbled across a new product line called, "As I Am." Hands down this is one of the best natural product lines I have encountered ever!!! I dont care too much for the clarifying shampoo but I can tweak that to meet my needs BUT they have a Coconut CoWash cream that is to die for!!!! It doesn't lather, but it does remove product build-up without stripping your hair. Then there is the Hydrating Deep Conditioner, this is my favorite. It can just sit on your hair or you can use heat to get better results and after I use it, my hair is soft and hydrated PLUS the conditioner has enough slip that is great for finger or comb detangling. It smells great and it has all the essentials olive oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, tangerine, castor oil, aloe vera, and veggie glycerin. I can't get enough!!! I hope guys go check it out and give it a try!!!! Oh yeah, some other items this line has are cleansing pudding, twist defining cream, leave in conditioner, moisture milk, and a gel!!!! They have everything. WARNING!!!!!! It is a little expensive, but again, so worth it.

Recap!!!

Earlier last year when I started to blog again, I told you guys that I would experiment with my hair. I have done just that!!!! So this is just a quick post I'm doing to get you up to date....there might be 2-4 more post just today.
Ok...recap!!!!
-I caved!!! I vowed to never put another chemical in my hair, but I did!!!! I colored my hair now I'm golden! :) I promise it's cute
-Big chop part 2...this shames me even as a beautician. I was not taking care of my hair as I should. I felt horrible because I chew my clients out for not taking care of their hair...but to sum all of this up I had to cut 3 inches off just to get my hair to somewhat of a healthy state. I'm still hurting over that. Now, I'm in hair growth boot camp my sister's wedding is in September and I need longer healthier hair so I will be documenting this!!! Ok well....I have another post to get to!!!

I'm Just Sayin'...SWAG!!!!

Ok....I can't believe I just said that but it fits...

I have frequently been on the internet looking for new styles to do with my hair and what not and I'm browsing all these pictures of random naturals and I've come to this conclusion....

NATURAL GIRLS HAVE THE SICKEST STYLE!!!!

I know, call me biased but I do believe this to be fact!! I've seen naturals wear tight party dresses with big hair and bold lipstick, mismatched prints, I've when seen naturals do the androgynous look!!! And I (personally) feel no one else can pull it off like a natural girl!!!! Here are some pictures to help me rest my case, but I do want your opinion. Do naturals have their on ”swag” and what trend do you find yourself wearing all the time?

Stretched out!!!!

So I'm doing this post as I'm walking out the door for work!!! So bare with me...last night I did my first attempt at stretching along with a braid out and I love it!!!! Its mt desires length (so far). My next post will be how maintenance goes tonight.

So for my braid out I used a curl relaxer cream by Mizani soaking wet. Then I finger parted my hair into different sized plaits (sp?) and  wrapped them base to the end of the braid with elastic headbands. The key is to leave some hair out at the ends and because my hair is so thick and curly, I just braided until I couldnt braid anymore. This morning I unwrapped my braids and took them down, pulled them apart, and fluffed!!!! Threw on a pair of earrings and some lipstick and thats my look today!!!!

Comment and follow!!!! :)

My Story

FINALLY!!!!! I get to do a post!!!

A little bit about me. I've been natural 21 months...yes I'm going on my second year. It hasn't been the best, but I'm determined to do this. I decided to make the switch after chemical damage, basically I lightened my hair in beauty school and I was too scared to put a relaxer on my hair. As I was letting the color grow out I was noticing how my hair wasn't difficult to maintain. But after a few months of washing, blow drying, and flat ironing my new growth, I grew tired and went ahead and did my BIG CHOP and I vowed to not put another chemical on my hair!!!! What's your story??? Please share!!!
